This whipped banana topping is a simple and airy addition to banana bread, pancakes, or any dessert that could use a hint of banana. The fresh banana adds a mild sweetness, while Banana Spruits enhance the flavor without making it too strong. Depending on how it’s mixed, the texture can be soft and creamy or firm enough to pipe. It’s easy to make and best served chilled.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tablespoon Banana Spruits

Bake Mode is Off

Directions

  1. Mash the Banana:

In a small bowl, peel and mash 1 ripe banana until it becomes a smooth, pulpy syrup. Set aside.

  2. Whip the Cream:

In a large mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and use a hand mixer to whip until soft peaks form. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

  3. Incorporate the Ingredients:

Add the mashed banana, 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar, and 1 tablespoon Banana Spruits to the whipped cream.

  4. Mix to Desired Texture:

For a soft and creamy topping, gently fold the ingredients together by hand until fully combined. For a sturdier, pipeable topping, continue whipping with the hand mixer until the mixture holds firm peaks.

  5. Serve and Chill:

Serve immediately or Transfer the whipped banana topping to the refrigerator to keep it cool until ready to serve. Spoon or pipe onto banana bread, pancakes, waffles, or any dessert of your choice!
