French onion dip and potato chips are already a pretty great combination, so we figured it was the perfect place to sneak in a couple green vegetables too. Broccoli and Pea Spreggies blend easily into the sour cream, mayo, and onion seasoning, adding vegetables without taking away from that familiar French onion flavor. After a little time in the refrigerator, everything comes together even more and the veggie flavor becomes very subtle. Serve it with potato chips, pretzels, crackers, or fresh vegetables like carrots and celery.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp onion soup dry mix
  • 1 tsp Broccoli Spreggies
  • 1 tsp Pea Spreggies
  • 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce

Directions

1. Choose your onion soup mix

Start with your favorite dry onion soup mix, which can usually be found near the packaged soups and seasonings at the grocery store. Using a dry mix keeps this recipe especially simple and gives the dip plenty of onion flavor without any extra chopping or cooking.

2. Combine and mix the ingredients.

Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, onion soup mix, Broccoli Spreggies, Pea Spreggies, and Worcestershire sauce to a medium bowl. Stir everything together thoroughly until the vegetable powders and onion seasoning are evenly distributed throughout the dip. Give it a taste and adjust if you'd like—you can add a little more onion mix or Spreggies, or replace some or all of the mayonnaise with additional sour cream for a tangier dip.

3. Refrigerate the dip.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. You can eat the dip immediately, but giving it some time to chill allows the flavors to blend together and gives any dried onion pieces in the soup mix a chance to soften and rehydrate.

4. Serve and enjoy.

Give the dip one final stir, then serve it chilled with potato chips, pretzels, crackers, carrots, celery, or your favorite dipping vegetables.
